As a member of DTA, you are also a member of CTA and you have access to The Standard. The Standard offers a range of benefits for educators, such as disability insurance and life insurance plans. Remember that as a teacher, you are not enrolled in a state disability program and must purchase it for yourself. Disability insurance is what you will need if you exhaust your sick days and continue to need time off from work due to an illness or injury. Disability is also your maternity leave.
